Here you find a list of boat types/categories that you may have - and the appropriate mapping in NautiX.
Some boat categories can apply to both sailing boats and motor boats (e.g. cruisers).
In this case, both possible node assignments are displayed here.

Your boat category is too general (sailboat, powerboat etc.)? Then use the following rule:
If the boat is larger than 9 m and has at least one cabin, it is a yacht (sail-yacht oder power-yacht).
If it is smaller but has a cabin, it is a cabin boat (sail-cabin oder power-cabin).
If it is small and without cabin, it can be: with jet propulsion a jet ski (pwc-jetski) or a day cruiser (sail-daysailer, power-daycruiser).
